Would I still be a Vegetarian if…?
Hey guys, I was just wondering about something. If I had to take the supplement fish oil for medical reasons, would I still be considered a Vegetarian? I read that the actual definition of Vegetarianism is one who abstains from EATING meat. It’s not technically eating it, ingesting it, yes. What are your thoughts on this? I ultimately decided to not take fish oil, but to take an alternative, a flax liquid blend that is Vegan and has all the essential omegas (3-6-9). But if I ever ran out of it/couldn’t afford it (it’s 26 dollars for a 16 oz. bottle), then I may have to start taking fish oil, because it’s cheaper…
I think there are few absolutes in life, and a person should do the best they can with whatever it is they’re trying to do. If that means that you don’t eat meat, but have to take actual fish oil supplements, so be it. It doesn’t make you a bad person or a poser. Just do the best can in the circumstances you’re dealt, and don’t feel guilty about it.
