Are essential oils that I'm using is safe?
For over two years I've been using mint oil "NOW Personal Care" for many applications. Usually I use a small amount (What is at the edge of the bottle, not an actual decline) and places it in the back of the tongue Fresh Breath. I have also used directly on the skin several times for headaches and muscle aches. Today I bought lemon grass oil (the same brand, 100% purity) and I was reading about its uses, but was very concerned when I read all the damage they can cause if not used this particular oil, and others, some way. I wonder if I was possibly damaged my body with my use of peppermint oil, but I really have not seen any sign of damage to themselves, and had also like to know the safest ways to use these oils, especially lemon.
If this is true essential oil, it is not advisable to ingest any them. Essential oil is for external use only, unless it is under the care of an aromatherapist training. Essential oils are extremely powerful concentrates. Must be treated by the organs of elimination. If you take or use too much can overload the disposal of the body and cause problems. Also oil essential can burn if not diluted in carrier oil. If ingested, it can be burning / irritation of the throat.
