essential oils? effectts? bs or real?

yesterday i got a couple of essential oils used to give my home a pleasant smell, I ended up being two and by a mixture of about 30% may chang and 70% of vetiver. grounded out lemon scent. the lady said that the effects on the store as a soun some bs for me, but after using it I feel really sleepy, and I had the best sleep last night and had a lot of good dreams, and now again after turning now I feel the same sense of sleep, is it coincidence or just somthing to do with oils, if so, is there to do the opposite effect haha
