Aromatherapy Travel Insurance – Essential Oils for your trip

Going on a trip is usually thought of as a wonderful experience you and your family may have planned and expected for some time. For the most fun – to get the most out of the experience – it is important that you and your loved ones have the means to overcome little ailments and discomforts that may cause range from mildly unpleasant experience downright unbearable. How can you include a little "travel insurance" to our already overloaded baggage or mini-vans? Aromatherapy has an answer with some readily available essential oils.

Motion sickness, insect bites, digestive problems, fatigue and travel in general – to name a few – are common discomforts experienced when venturing away from home. A small collection of essential oils low cost can provide great relief from these ailments threat of attractions. 'Treatment' with these oils is simple – ranging from inhaling a little tissue oil, adding to a bath, drinking a drop with a cup of hot water. And, thankfully, relief often comes quickly because of the properties of oils "powerful and compatibility with our own bodies.

Peppermint and Ginger Essential Oils – Problems abdomen and elimination of the Head

Let's start with "get there" – every journey begins with travel. By car, boat, plane or otherwise, motion sickness commonly effects of many people, especially children. This can make the "journey" part of your experience absolutely no fun. Enter Peppermint essential oil.

Mint has been used to soothe the stomach uneasy, and used easily. A drop (strong!) In a cup of warm water, sweetened if you like, you can drink before and during the trip. For the most finicky, a drop can be added to a small amount of honey and taken from a spoon to the same effect.

Ginger essential oil is also known for its soothing stomach aches – some inhalation of a tissue or diluted in a carrier oil and rubbed into the abdomen can bring relief. You can also add a drop of ginger to warm water and drink like strong tea – this may be effective for some stomach problems related to food and especially when combined with abdominal massage method.

Mint can also rises to tired driver or passenger – a drop or two places in the tissues the car or near your seat will release the aroma into your environment. Be careful with this oil however, as to ensure that in sensitive areas of the skin (directly under the nose, and certainly near the eyes) can cause irritation. Tissues with the oil it should not touch these areas directly.

Lavender Oil – the Great Pacifier

Lavender has been called "a kit in a bottle 'due to its wide range of effects. The scent of lavender is stimulating and relaxing, useful for stress in congested airports or crowded highways. Breathing this very safe essential oil for adults and children alike – inhaling drops from a tissue directly, or one placed in the environment can help you and your colleagues for comfort.

Furthermore, the thyme, tea tree and eucalyptus – Cleaning Maintenance and Bugs and Bites on the Bay

Lavender essential oil is also an effective wound healer because of the actions of anti-inflammatory, antibacterial Soft and regenerating the skin. It can be used directly in case of burns, mixed 50:50 with tea tree and put bandages to prevent infection, or mixed with thyme and eucalyptus Linalool (2:04:02) and added to a container of water for washing effective disinfectant.

Lavender is very useful for the treatment of bites and stings – Just place some "clean" (undiluted) in the affected area. This versatile oil is also a component of an insect repellent blend composed of equal parts lavender, thyme linalool, and mint, and a double dose of Lemongrass essential oil. A drop or more placed on tissue or cloth around your room can keep the bugs out of your space, three drops of this blend per teaspoon of carrier oil can be regularly applied to the skin – or you can mix a similar amount any lotion you may have.

Lavender can be used in combination with geranium, chamomile, peppermint and eucalyptus oils to alleviate the effects of jet-lag. Out of this weary state as quickly as possible makes any trip more enjoyable. This requires that you and colleagues in line with local time, with good rest during the night and perhaps a mild elevation in the morning and throughout the day.

To get yourself in the rhythm of local time, relax and be ready to the bed with equal parts of essential oils of lavender and geranium – Chamomile can also be used in place of Geranium, and works especially well for children smooth (if is that they are irritable for some reason). Add a few drops to a bath or use a massage oil. For a morning eye-opener, do the same with the same amount mint and eucalyptus. You'll find these useful at other times when you need a little clarity and lighting up.

Lemon oil – the Purifier

Lemon also has some wonderfully diverse uses. It is effective as an anti-bacterial, but not so strong as to be an irritant. Add a few drops per liter your drinking water will help purify, and the water can act as a disinfectant that is used in washing fruits and vegetables – the need for this certainly depends on its location, but not a bad idea when bacterial contamination may be a possibility. In addition, regularly drinking water with added lemon oil can gently stimulate the lymphatic system and digestive system, helping to alleviate that feeling of sluggishness that often accompanies extended plane and car travel.

Oil Eucalyptus – For Cool and Cold Relief

Eucalyptus – The narrow-leaved variety is a favorite – has a wide range of applications as well. It can be cool body when it gets too hot, and protect it when it is too cold. Is found in almost all formulas used to relieve congestion, can support circulation, and bring light to travel weary head.

Eucalyptus oil can be used like peppermint to uplift and strengthen during the time intervals in a car. You can add a cool bath or used in a cold compress in cases of heat exhaustion and heat stroke (accompanied, of course, large amounts of water and electrolytes!), and is used in a similar way to reduce fever.

Eucalyptus oil can be blended with Geranium as a massage oil (3 drops of eucalyptus geranium and 2 drops per teaspoon of carrier oil) to relieve heat cramps. To relieve congestion, a drawn bath, add 1 drop of eucalyptus 3 drops lemon, 2 drops of thyme, and 2 drops Tea Tree – soak and breathe deeply – or simply add a few drops to a bowl of water and inhale.

These are just some examples of ways to make your travel experience more enjoyable with aromatherapy. With a little effort, you can expand your knowledge of these oils find other applications, and find other oils that work well for your particular needs.

These essential oils are easily available and fairly cheap – Though caution should be used to buy oil, as some can be adulterated, and others are mass produced with techniques that may limit its therapeutic benefits. The more pleasant and "well rounded" flavor of an oil, in general, the higher the quality. Your nose knows! And as with any aromatherapy application, start slowly – essential oils deserve respect.
